It is important to mention that Transmilenio is a rapid transit bus system (BRT), which has been implemented in different cities because it has proven to be an effective and affordable transport option. For this system a road network is used specially adapted to the city where these high capacity buses use two lanes in each direction, being a main parameter for monitoring the functionality of the lines.

Once the way Transmilenio operates, it deepened the factors that significantly influence the quality of life of users. The time factor is taken into account as a relevant resource, since it is the only one that cannot be recovered, when consumed in large quantity to mobilize daily, it reduces the possibility that people can use it in other activities of their preference, by The above was sought to identify how the quality of life of users related to the time invested in the waiting of the service is affected.

It is known that in the capital cities there is vehicular congestion, including the public transport service, which generates problems about delays in mobility traffic. Regardless of the factors that affect the traffic of the city of Bogotá such as the urban development plan, the route layout design, the poor state of road infrastructure, traffic light problems, among others, the analysis of this wait as a potential loss of time, since transfers can become considerable if the calculation of time accumulated per year is made as described in. Another factor evaluated was security, since it is essential at the user’s time to choose public transport as a means to move and which in turn contributes to the increase in demand, the service is more attractive and reliable in its use . Finally, the factor considered is citizen culture, which is defined as the set of shared values, attitudes, behaviors and norms that generate a sense of belonging, promote progress, facilitate coexistence and lead to respect for common heritage . 

In this sense, citizen culture is related to the educational framework that implies the generation of actions from references, with the intermediation of public or private institutions, allow the orientation in the transformation of the interactions between the citizen and the city, now Well, for this case the citizen’s behavior is related to the service provided by Transmilenio that allows facilitating the interaction of users generating a social cohesion and that respect between all the interest groups of the system is promoted.

For these reasons, the present document aims to identify the impact of factors such as time, security and citizen culture, on the quality of life of the users of the Transmilenio Transportation System in the trunk component of the city of Bogotá.
