Should the Second Amendment be repealed?
The second amendment has been in the United States Constitution since its inception. It has however in the past raised a lot of concerns which leads to the question as to whether it is outdated and should be repealed (Sachs, 1). The founding fathers drafted the constitution with the aim of protecting the country against attacks, and in the inclusion of the second amendment was the furtherance to the protection from armed rebellions since the nation had no standing militia at the time. This hence emphasized that the right of citizens to bear arms should not be infringed (Sachs, 1). However, over time, there has been an increased safety and safeguard of the welfare of the entire nation by the actions of the federal government, which possess no threat to the individuals such that would necessitate raising arms in support for a given course. Hence, how significant is the second amendment today?
Most people purchase guns nowadays with the aim of providing security for themselves and their families and as insurance in the event of an attack. However, research shows that the more guns are at the disposal of people, the more harm they cause (Stevens, 1). A lot of accidents occur, due to improper storage of guns, or if they fall into the wrong hands. Not to mention an increase in the number of homicides and other gun-related violence cases as a result of more guns being in circulation. Recently there as an increase in the number of years that one was allowed to wield a weapon (gun) from eighteen years (Stevens, 1) to twenty-one years, this speaks to the gravity of any incompetent person wielding a weapon in front of others and the outcome as well.

Wait! The second amendment is outdated and should be appealed (support stricter gun control) paper is just an example!

Hence the need to enact stricter guns’ control policies.
In as much as it is the right of any US citizen to own a gun as provided by the second amendment, in the event the second amendment is not repealed, stricter gun control policies (Stevens, 1) should be implemented. Seeking to block all the loopholes that previous amendments might provide and stricter background checks on the purchases, before the transfer of the gun, or even issuance of the license. This will hence see a reduction in the crimes related to gun violence and promote peaceful coexistence since people can easily sit and have a conversation without necessarily raising weapons against each other.
People are called or choose to venture into different career paths. Some choose to enter into military and serve their country; others teach, treat, among other professions. Everyone hence has a certain career path that which they feel more satisfied being in service to others. Not to mention how much the police and military love to serve their countries. Therefore, since guns are used in the enhancement of security, it is only logical that the security enforcers are given the opportunity to wield the weapons and protect everyone else. Furthermore, they are better trained and will always be able to handle the situations better than any untrained person which would in many cases raise the alarm as to the wellbeing of others around them and themselves as well. Having too many guns around is not the solution to enhancing the security of safety of people, it possesses more threats. Therefore, strict policies should be enacted, or repeal the entire second amendment altogether hence bringing to an end the cycle of gun violence.
