How Film Score Serves the Screen
The film score that is utilized in a screen is useful in providing the audience with the content, the emotional response, and the context. There are several ways by which the film scores involve the viewers. One of the ways is developing the suitable setting; which entails the place and time. The filmmakers usually select specific music to demonstrate certain periods of time (Harris 501). The sole purpose is to give the audience the idea of the time and the location of the narrative. The audience can, therefore, relate their feelings to the encounters from such times. For example, when the music of say 1970s is used, then there is a likelihood that the movie was set during those times.
Film scores also help to highlight something that is emotional (Rees 53). In a movie, the characters do not always inform the viewers that they are in danger. However, the kind of music that will accompany the actions enable the audience to deduce instances of trouble. Furthermore, the music may be played after some silence which makes viewers sense some danger. Film scores demonstrate finality and the conclusion of important events in a movie. Playing of certain music at the end of a film brings the mood of finality as is indicated by the tone.
Moreover, the film scores indicate continuation (Mukherjee 323). For example, the type of music utilized during some happenings can help the audience to link the events to the previous ones that had the same kind of music playing.

Also, music plays the role of filling the silence in a movie (Sotillo n.p). Other times, the viewers may feel nervous with too much silence between film scenes, and the best solution is playing music. Film scores are therefore very significant in providing the emotional weight to the viewers.
