The self-actualizing people, according to Maslow, are those people who seek wisdom, consciousness and have the zeal to become more creative. These people want to develop fully and attain their potential so as to fulfill their needs. In his hierarchical theory, Maslow places self-actualization at a lower level whereby one only seeks to fulfill this need after all other important needs have been fulfilled (Cloninger 450-457). He characterizes self-actualizing people as persons of honesty, who seek justice for all, they learn fast, they take responsibility for what they do and are fearless.
Self-actualizing people tend to be different from an average person and are detached from normality or what the society expects. They like privacy and enjoy being alone, they respect, love and appreciate people and the world. However, these people may be hindered from achieving their needs by barriers created by the society. Self-actualization is for both men and women, and it is a process that requires one to learn to listen to their inner self, their feelings, and needs. According to Maslow, actualization should come from within a person and not as an influence from the society (Cloninger 450-457). Good parenting is also linked to self-actualization whereby parents who understand this give their children the space to exist freely without so much restriction.
Healthy development and growth bring along creativity, and this is profoundly influenced by good parenting as well.

Parents who love their children, raise and accept them the way they are; they give them the space to realize and exploit their potentials. This means that parents should protect their children from the kind of society that would prevent them from growing their talents. According to our scenario, a child who is talented and can play the violin at a very tender age, in my opinion, is not creative. The author believes that when one has the ability to play with concepts and elements and also is open to experience, they develop psychological qualities required for creativity and one cannot be able to exhibit them at a tender age.
