Cities that are facing economic crisis can put in place their plan by avoiding the mistakes Detroit did in the initial years and at the same time invest in some strategies (Levy, 2013). The cities should be made livable and prevent outmigration while putting the focus on the neighborhood. Individuals in areas with a small population should move to areas with a high number of people to maximize the use of resources. It is easy to provide requirements in a densely populated area than in a sparsely populated (Levy, 2013). Any idle land also should be used for the developmental purpose and avoid the expensive one.
The community owns most of the resources where urban growth takes place. The people must participate in every developmental effort especially the impact on the environment (Sallis et al., 2016). The community gathers the citizens and shows them the need for embracing the project if it is useful to them and environmentally friendly (Gómez et al., 2013). However, the same people shun plans that are destructive.
The federal government can comply with this by investing in reasonably cheap land in the neighborhood that is sparsely populated. The government can also consider deplaning to create spaces for the pedestrians and vehicles which will ensure both of them have adequate space (Cullingworth & Caves, 2013). Instead of using the money to provide housing, the government can consider streamlining the rules to ensure houses are safe and fair to everybody.

Wait! Town planning paper is just an example!

The citizens have every reason to worry when their funds are under non-governmental workers. The idea is that; the people may delay the projects with the aim of earning more stressing the ordinary people. The people are also profit-minded and may have little interest in the citizen s development. The people may thus take the money and fail to deliver quality services as the government would do.
