A tragic hero is a person who makes irreversible decisions in life that eventually cause to his downfall. This character originally lives a normal or ordinary life. Later in life, he faces challenges, wealth and eventually dies, out of his own mistakes. This paper will give an Annotated bibliography of Julius Caesar. This paper will prove that he was a tragic hero through comparing his characteristics to those of a tragic hero.

It states that his aristocratic family was far from rich. Therefore, this proves that despite his fame due to his doings and decisions Caesar was born in a normal family and stayed close to his mother after his father’s death at the age of sixteen. Coinciding with a tragic hero’s character that is doomed from the beginning but does not bear the responsibility for his flaws

It explains his flaw in judgment. Caesar was betrayed by those he had considered loyal to him. During the first primitive Caesar, Caurus and Pompey worked together and efficiently.

However’ after Caurus death, Pompheys’ jealousy led him to create alliances with Caesar’s rivals, and this led to great conflict. During his death, among those that stabbed him was a man named Brutus who he had forgiven and loved all through his life. His last words are said to be ‘you too my child?’

It mainly points out to the many serious decisions he makes to ensure he serves his purpose. Being born in a time of instability, he decided from a young age to venture into politics and support the nobles. He conquered in wars and expounded territories. He assassinated so many people who stood in his way to being in power. He eventually decided to be a dictator whereby he was able to do the many reforms he always wanted to.

This article gives a detailed history of Caesar’s life. It, however, proves a tragic hero’s character of suffering more than he deserves. After his marriage to Cornelia, he gets into a revolution that threatens not only all his properties but also his own life. Forces him to flee and comes back after Cornelius father is dead. His whole life, filled with wars, and his death in the Senate to is not a heroic one compared to his deeds.
