Introduction
Before the industrial revolution, unemployment was a less issue in society compared to now. Even though it existed, only a few people in the society were jobless.
The economies of agricultural countries were stable with slight changes from year to year. However, beginning the 18th centuries, the countries like Britain experienced a recessionary gap which facilitated to mass unemployment whereby people got fired. My main people in this paper is to discuss the impacts of unemployment as a social welfare challenge.
Body
Unemployment leads to increased poverty in the society.
Mass unemployment underwrites to higher levels of poverty. When people in society lack a source of income, some of them end up engaging in crimes.
The other family members develop tension leading to stress and other mental health issues due to depression. It also affects the education system of bright students in society.
For instance, a student might pass well in his or her high school level and wish to continue with the next level.
Due to lack of money to support him or her they end up dropping their career and find other activities that will enable them to sustain their living.
The living standard of an unemployed individual goes down since the unemployment-related activities seldom pay less.
Some of them are forced to use credit facilities and loan-finances.

The development of unemployment over the years has led to tension in the society.
Many people are crying of poverty as their children drop out of school and others involve themselves in crime to get money that will help them sustain their living.
