The human mind is the most complex component of the organ that also influences character development. What the mind does is an accurate reflection of the condition of the brain. This aspect indicates commonness of the two body organs and the significance of comprehending factors that affect or support the functioning. The mind is a manifold of the processes that occur in the brain. Thus, the mind can function in a variety of ways depending on the factors around the brain processes. Ideally, technology plays a huge role in shaping the mind. Equally, the social and environmental exposures also influence the human perception and behavioral change (Sternberg, 2016).
The role of environment in the mind’s functioning is linkable to memory and personality change as one grows. Many philosophers argue that what the mind is exposed to is what the systems adopt in memory. This aspect is pivotal in cognitive functions of the mind. The environment is a comprehensive component of the surrounding that shapes understanding of the social relations, accepted norms, and roles (Minsky n.d). Plato likens the role of the mind as a tool used in exploring the truth about the whole system of the body and functions. Several environmental factors affect the functioning of the mind. Thus, exposure posits the most crucial role in the mind’s functioning within the systems.
Moreover, educational environment changes our perceptions regarding issues in the contemporary society.

A learned person will display a different style in reasoning and life performance compared to the illiterate society. Education expands the cognitive cell capacity and allows the mind to accommodate more information. As a result, the mind begins to function in different ways, and we perceive things in a different way. The differences in problem-solving techniques, for instance, highlight the distinctions in levels of understanding among individuals. A highly educated individual tends to understand the conceptual frameworks in establishing peaceful negotiations as opposed to the illiterate. Additionally, educational curriculums play a role in shaping individual careers as well as the concept of reasoning among the individuals.
Economic, environmental exposure has a crucial role in the functioning of the mind. Wealthy people tend to think differently from the poorer in the society. Predominantly, the dualistic approach in the center of wholesomeness of cognitive abilities plays a major role in shaping the body-mind communication. Plato’s dualism approach, for instance, claims that the environment immensely affects our perception and shapes what we see in reality. We perceive what the environment transposes to us in order of the occurrence and not the reality. Thus, money and wealth play a major role in shaping the personality of a person. It promotes self-esteem and confidence among the individuals. “Our being is a reflection of the discourse of environmental impacts” (Dryzek, 2013). Consequently, the individual becomes self-aware of the surrounding due to the exposure.
Poverty is a common menace that affects the psychosocial functions of people in the society. It also hinders the cognitive development of such individuals in the contemporary society. Hence, its impact on the individual development can only link to the adverse states of the individual performances within the society. Poor people tend to think in different ways as to concerning matters of health, information, and social setup.
Also, the parental environment manipulates our perceptions on the contemporary issues in the society. Such environmental influences such as the moral values instilled in us by the parents affect our social thoughts in life. An individual will hold to the cultural background until their death owing to the parental influence. However, such an individual will begin to think differently about the diversity in culture and origin.
Ideally, the relationship between the environment and the mind portrays a critical influence on the development of individuals. Philosophers claim that the concept of the environment influence and how we think can affect the entire humanity in a lifetime. Consequently, the society breeds on the effect of the environment to segregate societies into economic classes as well as social leadership hierarchies. Countries with superior environmental exposures tend to display distinctive impacts on the human society. A good environmental exposure such as civilization and improved healthcare will change the way one thinks about life as well as their perceptions of the role of memory in cognitive development. Such concepts enable the individuals to exhibit a whole character that singles out the contemporary division in thinking relationships among individuals as well as the social organizations in our systems.
In my opinion, the environmental influence on personal development posits a similar impact as to that of the technology within the society. Crucial issues relating to the cognitive abilities in the mind will only benefit the functioning of the mind if they have a positive impact on the individual. The social classes can attribute the differences in the functions of the mind based on the economic environment. Similarly, the lucrative values in the social unity also highlight the role of environment in displaying the differences in mind functionality. Thus, educational exposure, cultural background, environmental conditions are the main environmental factors that affect the way our mind functions apart from technology.
