What’s at Stake in China Trade Talks for U.S. Companies?
U.S. trade policy toward China has been a hot topic in recent months. Discuss how tariffs work and what they mean for companies, workers, and consumers. How do you feel about the way the United States is approaching trade negotiations with China? Will the United States succeed in getting what it wants from China? Explain.
Tariffs are used by different countries to restrict imports by raising the goods’ price to make them less appealing to the consumers. The United States is trying to have a level playing field which will enable the American companies to easily operate in China. The country is also aiming at being able to access more market for the U.S businesses. The U.S has threatened to impose more tariffs on about thirteen thousand products from China by 25% such as chemicals, machine tools, and medical equipment (Pak, 2018). The two countries have been threatening to add tariffs on various goods. The United States is not likely to get what it wants since China is an economic giant and has nothing to lose if they feel what the U.S wants cannot be granted.
Discuss the situation with Chinese telecom ZTE. What prompted the sanctions againstthe company? Why has Trump moved to assist ZTE? Do you agree with his actions? What is at stake for the United States?

Wait! What’s at Stake in China Trade Talks for U.S. Companies? paper is just an example!

This is after the company was shipping goods to North Korea and Iran illegally. Trump moved to help this company get back into business citing that many jobs in China had been lost (Alcindor, 2018). A bipartisan outrage occurred and he was criticized for helping the Chinese jobs before he could help the American jobs. Trump, however, defended himself by saying that he did that because the Chinese president asked him to do so. He added that the company buys most of their parts for the manufacture of mobile phones from the U.S and he termed that as a lot of business. I agree with him since China contributes to job creation in the U.S
Reflect on China’s trade policy toward the United States and indeed the rest of theworld. What is China trying to achieve? Who are the winners and who are the losers?
China is aiming to achieve global capital, markets, expertise, and technologies to facilitate industrial growth. Since the two countries want to prove their might, this trade war will not have any ultimate winner or loser.
