Why I Want to Attend Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at Monroe College
When growing up I was full of hope, determination, aspirations, and dreams of becoming a diagnostic medical sonographer. Unlike most kids who are quick to make decisions, I was a bit indecisive on most of the things I wanted in life. However, when it came to a career, I was pretty sure of what I wanted, and that is why I feel great desire to pursue my longtime dream of being a diagnostic medical sonographer.
Apart from my childhood dreams and aspirations, I also have some other added reasons that drive my desires into this profession path. At an early age of 10 years, one of my siblings developed a breathing complication which made it hard for him to breath. By having problems, it means he literary had difficulties both inhaling and exhaling which made it hard for him to catch his breath. My parents were in and out of hospital hoping to get a solution to my brother’s predicament. For more than two years of searching the doctors could not identify what the exact problem was, but in their third year of looking for more help one doctor diagnosed the ailment as asthma. Unfortunately, it later turned out it wasn’t asthma and he developed further complications which doctors said were from heart problems. His life became awful and this, of course, affected our entire family. My brother life was a routine of doctors’ visit to doctors’ visit undergoing different tests from stress test to tilt tests and many others.

Wait! Why i would like to Attend the DMS program at Monroe College? paper is just an example!

He could hardly attend schools due to his ailing condition. Due to the many visits to the doctors, my brother literary hated the visits rest for one of them which involved having sonograms done to his heart. All this while I would accompany my parents and my brother to the doctors hence I noted how kind and gentle the sonographer was to my brother. The kindness and care that the sonographer accorded my brother gave him hope to move on as she showed him what the exact problem was. As I watched all these, I could also see and hear it on the screen in front of him. Here is where my dream took off. I felt a great urge to help my brother, but there was little I could know, but I knew I had the opportunity of helping other kids with such complications upon growing up. The only way I could do it was by becoming a diagnostic medical sonographer like the lady who was helping my brother. Although the many doctors and nurses who attended to my brother helped him in different ways I felt like was it not for the sonographer who diagnosed the actual problem he had we would have lost him but thanks to the lady sonographer we still have him to date.
Now that am a grown up I feel its time I venture into the field that will help me help other people facing a similar predicament as my brother once met. I am entirely convinced that being a sonographer is what I want to do with my life. I believe that being a sonographer is the primary way that I can put a smile on a scared little child’s face going through unpleasant tests as my brother did. Becoming a sonographer will allow me to give people a chance to live if I diagnose the problems in time (Anatolijs 2017). Although I might not change the world and might not make it to history books that is less important to me. What I desire is to be kind and make somebody’s day bright by making a difference in their life regardless of the size. I want to rise every day and go to a job that I love not because of the money but due to the satisfaction and fulfillment I get from helping patients. I am convinced that sonography will give me exactly this hence being happy with what I do with my life. The program will equip me with the knowledge and understanding of human anatomy, their physiology and the vast sonography specialties and an opportunity to train with health professions. I will also learn how to handle patients and expertly practice sonography.
