In the early years, the very idea of women as leaders ceased to exist. The female gender was meant for roles other than those that involved power. The woman was to be seen and not to get heard. Moreover, there barely existed any laws defending the rights of women since the gender seemed complacent and comfortable with their position in society. However, with time situations and beliefs revolutionized and currently, it is not rare to hear about women in leadership positions. This shift in the societal notion of power makes it possible to debate about this statement to prove its truth.
This statement that women are more nurturing managers than men does not marginalize either men or women. Instead, it is meant to shed light on an essential aspect of how fast women have climbed up the ladder to get compared with their male counterparts. Since men and women exhibit different traits as well as characteristics, this means that they cannot manage their tasks entirely in the same manner. Men and women think and act differently most of the time that is why they should not be expected to make the same decisions regarding roles given to them at work (Krotz, 2006). This aspect explains why men are more competition oriented while women are more focused on stronger relations at work that leads to better performance and growth of those they direct.
Krotz (2006) states that statistics and studies have shown that a higher percentage of people agree that indeed women are better managers.

However, it is worth noting that even with this admission most companies are yet to embrace this fact. Most companies show blatant discrimination when employing people with women being the most at the lower positions of work. Men are yet to accept the challenge put across to them by their female counterparts and until that happens women will still have to wait a while longer (Goethals et al, 2004). It is even shocking that the females have to work extra hard to prove that they have the capabilities to meet expectations in certain ranks while their male counterparts do not have a hard time in getting promotions.
Women act like pillars in their managerial positions at their places of work. They serve with more compassion and are more nurturing in the way they handle their employees. Women are known to be more engaged in their work hence transfer the same to their workers. They exhibit the character of involving their colleagues in most aspects of decision making as a part of making them progress and become better achievers. Furthermore, they have been found to actively participate in tasks given to employees ensuring they get feedback and correct where possible (Goethals et al, 2004). These aspects about women leaders distinguish them from their male counterparts who are less involving with employees.
This debate on comparing men to women must have come about with the sudden awakening by women to fight for the rights of the female. The era of fighting for the rightful positions of women who had felt discriminated against for an extended period brought to the open some critical issues that got earlier suppressed. Conducting of surveys regarding this issue on gender bias revealed this truth that had otherwise been brushed off as of no importance. The need to recognize the strengths of women who are equal beings like the men also contributed to the thriving of this myth that has recently changed the face of the economy.
