Introduction

This work refers to head trauma (TCE), most people tend to have accidents, if their impact is direct to the head is called a craniocerebral traumA slip, labor accidents traffic accidents and sports practices.

Craneoecephalic trauma is defined as a physical lesion or functional deterioration of the cranial content secondary to an abrupt exchange of mechanical energy, which includes external causes that can cause shock, contusion, bleeding or laceration of the brain, cerebellum and brain stem to the level of the level of theFirst cervical vertebra, its clinical manifestations: confusion or disorientation, loss of consciousness, posttraumatic amnesia.

Cognitive and behavioral alterations in patients with head trauma are diagnosed through neuropsychological tests, Glasgow scale and adaptability and dysfunctionality inventories, which allows to correlate brain functioning with performance in specific tasks and independence in life activitiesdaily.

The epidemiological studies of the TCE in different countries of Western Europe allow an incidence of this of 235 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, a mortality rate of 15 deaths x 100,000, and a distribution of incident cases, according to gravity, between 79% of mild, 12% moderate and 9% serious cases.

In Ecuador there are no epidemiological studies on cranial trauma. The mortality reported by the INEC (National Institute of Statistics and Census) is known, which for the year 2014 indicated 5768 deaths determined by severe trauma.

The TCE has become a public health problem that affects the young population that is in the productive and economic stage. Traumatic brain lesions include the main cause of disability in people under 40, and occur frequently in men aged 15 to 25 years.

Justification

In this present research on craniocerebral trauma, it is based on knowing cranial lesions, it should be noted that it is an important cause of morbidity and mortality anywhere in the world;It affects young men and generates a public health problem
