Introduction
Every generation is considered to have its stressors in life. Debates of which generation has been more stressful between the baby boomer generation who were born in the early 1940s to 1964 and the millennial generation born in 1980s to 1990s continue to exist. I currently belong to the millennial generation since I am 28 years old and I believe that people of my age experience more stress than our parents or grandparents experienced during the same age. This belief is attributed to the lower rates of employment, the burden associated with student loan debts, and the inability of the millennial generation to possess a home compared to the previous generations at a similar age.

Lower rates of employment in the millennial generation have increased their levels of stress significantly. Research shows that the rate of unemployment and underemployment among young graduates has risen substantially in recent years. The millennial generation is currently experiencing higher rates of unemployment than the baby boomer generation. Moreover, those who are currently employed earn less money compared to those who graduated in the past (Kroeger & Gould, 2017). Consequently, the lack of jobs and reduced wages have caused the levels of stress to increase among the millennial generation.

Student loan debts have contributed to the millennial generation having more stress than the baby boomer generation. According to Kroeger & Gould (2017), the cost of education has increased over the years. Specifically, the four-year components of education that include tuition, room, and board, and fees have inflated to 162% for private institutions and 151.1% for public institutions in the past 37 years. Consequently, the millennial generation has been overburdened by the massive student loan debts compared to the baby boomer generation at the same age in the attempt of completing their education.
The inability of the millennial generation to possess a home has increased their levels of stress than the baby boomer generation. In a survey conducted recently, approximately fifteen percent of 25 to 35 young people were staying with their guardians in 2016 while 8 percent of the baby boomer generation were living with their parents in 1964 (Fry, 2017). This inability of the millennial generation to possess their own homes has been attributed to the current state of lack of jobs and low wages, increasing their stress significantly. The fact that a person is 28 years old and still living with their parents is stressful for young adults.
Conclusion
Lower rates of employment, the burden associated with student loan debts, and the inability of the millennial generation to possess a home have made them more stressful than their parents and grandparents at the same age. As 28-year-olds, we experience more unemployment and low wages than when our parents at our age, which increases our stress considerably.
