The enactment of the United States Affordable Act of 2010 came as a blessing to the many American citizens who for a long time have been facing the challenge of high-cost health care. The Act was made into law with the aim of making health care affordable through factors such as health insurance and reduced cost of drugs among others. However, while the Act is a blessing to many, it came at the expense of healthcare organizations. Healthcare organizations have been impacted negatively by the Affordable Care Act 2010 specifically on their finances. The Act was also able to incorporate social health determinants into policy.
Based on the level of preparation and programs required to make the Act fully take effect, it will take some time for universal coverage. It is estimated that by 2016, close to 30 million Americans did not have any coverage. The Affordable Care Act, therefore, has impacted negatively on health organizations which rely on a health insurance policy for financing. Affordable Care Act also jeopardizes the quality of healthcare currently offered by the health organizations. Many healthcare organizations and states, in a bid to reduce the effect of the Act on their finances, have opted not to expand Medicaid eligibility (Sommers, Kenney & Epstein, 2014). The effects of this have been millions of uninsured people mostly older adults, which in analysis derails effective procedures, programs, and frameworks meant to finance healthcare organizations efficiently.

The Affordable Care Act contributes to the making of various social determinants of health into policy in several ways. The Act makes access to several health services easy to all the classes in the United States. Through the several programs that empower the health seeker, health care services can be accessed easily. Access to health care services is one of the social determinants of health as enshrined in Healthy People 2020, hence the Act is able to make it a health policy (Sommers, Kenney & Epstein, 2014). The Act also contains community-based programs that are meant to help Americans acquire universal health coverage. In analysis, the Affordable Care Act also improves on social support that is given to the citizens to access health care. Social support as a social health determinant can be through both government and non-governmental bodies through financial support to help in health insurance. This support also brings about infrastructural development in the neighborhood and a safe environment which are also among the key social determinants of health care.
The reforms on the United States healthcare system is meant to improve on the health care delivery to the natives of the US. These changes center on making health care affordable to all populations of the US, such as the aged, women or young people. The high cost of health care has been a challenge in the United States, especially during economic recessions. The reforms also focus on improved quality through improved health, training for physicians and programs to improve the quality of healthcare (Sommers, Kenney & Epstein, 2014). The reforms will also see a reduction in health care cost and improved budgeting to help healthcare organizations operate effectively. The reforms seek to cover over 40 million Americans with health insurance within a specific stipulated time. Through the reforms, the old traditional payment is to be scrapped off and to introduce new and improved modes of payment for health care such as mobile payment. Through the reforms, many healthcare organizations will shift to these changes and improve on the general health care delivery to the Americans.
