Among the advanced industrialized nations, the United States has a unique health care system. It doesn’t have universal health care coverage or a uniform health care system. However, legislation was recently enacted that mandates health care coverage for nearly everybody. Rather than operating a single-payer national health insurance system, a national health service, or a multi-player universal health insurance fund, the United States may be best referred to a hybrid system. Most of the health care in the United States is delivered privately even when publicly financed. Affordable health care has been in the political arena for some time now. According to the current president Donald Trump, compelling almost all Americans to have some kind of health care insurance or pay a fine isn’t the right decision for America. The president does not support offering insurance to unlawful immigrants stating that the restriction of immigration would boot out health care expenses for local and state governments.
Obama’s and Trump’s views on affordable care policy differ in many ways. Despite the differences, there are some similarities between trump’s and Obama’s views. According to Obama, people who could afford health insurance must obtain coverage by purchasing a health plan if one isn’t already supplied by their employer. If one doesn’t acquire it, he or she is subject to a penalty. On the other hand, president Trump doesn’t agree with the penalty.

He would like to repeal the penalty and mandate but if a person is uninsured for over two months, he or she would pay thirty percent surcharge on his or her premiums when seeking coverage again. Under Obama, the insurance companies were expected to provide coverage irrespective of somebody’s health record. The cost would be subsidized by the federal government. They would no longer reject an individual for what was regularly a very slack understanding of a “preexisting condition” and could not raise prices due to someone’s history (Amadeo n.p). President Trump, on the other hand suggests that the states should be allowed to waive the guidelines that halt insurers from indicting new clients more due to their health records. However, the States should also aid the highest-risk persons to get coverage. However, there are aspects of Trump’s and Obama’s views on affordable health care that are similar. Young adults below the age of twenty-six would still be covered by the parents’ plan. Both agree that persons with previously detected medical conditions can’t be deprived of the insurance coverage. All insurance firms must provide ten essential health welfares, including preventive services and maternity care. They both agree that Insurance companies should not set a limit on the amount to pay to cover someone.
In the last year, American health care reform act of 2017 was introduced in the house on April. The bill repeals the affordable care act and patient protection and the health care provisions of the health care and education reconciliation act of 2010 (Rolando n.p). The bill reinstates provisions revised by the revoked provision. The law amends the in-house income code to countenance an income levy standard deduction for well-being insurance. Group health rules may vary cost-sharing and premiums based on involvement in a wellness package. Individual health indemnity coverage is directed by the rules of a state selected by the issuer of the health insurance. The bill also requires the center for Medicaid and Medicare to publish claims and payment data. Independent medical assessment panels must evaluate health care litigations in which the perpetrator alleges devotion to medical practice guidelines. According to the bill, federal law court has jurisdiction over well-being care lawsuits. The last action on the bill was in October when it was referred to the subcommittee on insular, Indian, and Alaska Native affairs.
