Term Definition How they impacted history
Indians Were the main participants in the history rewriting at that particular time? The ancient people played a significant role in perfecting what is good today, and at the same time few mistakes they made may be the ones costing the modern lives
Toltec culture An archaeological Mesoamerican culture that was dominant in Tula, Hidalgo, and Mexico. Influenced power of the Aztecs that made rise into power in Mexico.
Topiltzin A civilization that took place in the 12th century and led to the destruction of Tollan. Toltec civilization led to the rising power of the Aztecs after the collapse of the Teotihuacan. As well as they mastered the art of architecture, medicine, and engineering (Open Learn, Np).
Quetzalcoatl He was the leader of the Aztec priesthood hence acted as their spiritual leader. His role was acting as a transgressor between the earth and the sky.
Tenochtitlan The Aztec city built on an island in Lake Texcoco. Its system canals supplied the numerous people who lived around it with water.
Tlaloc Was the Aztec rain god. Responsible for the fall of rain in the Aztec society.
Huitzilopochtli Aztec god of the Sun and the war. Offered sacrifices and blessed the warriors.
Nezhualcoyotl Philosopher, warrior, architect, and poet of the city-state of Texcoco. He was the lead person in the community being a ruler.
chinampas Were used to grow the Aztec farm crops.

pochteca Professional, long-distance traveling merchants in the Aztec Empire. Facilitated commerce and ensured communication of vital information (Open Learn, Np).
calculi Designation of an organizational unit below the level of the altepetl “city-state”. Had the divine authority of ensuring law and order in the society.
Pachacuti Was the ninth Sapa Inca (1418–1471/1472) of the Kingdom of Cusco. He transformed the Kingdom into the Inca Empire.
Twantinsuyu The Inca empire that was formerly the Cusco Kingdom. Stronger trade ties and increased employment.
Split inheritance An instance where the successor ruler takes up all political powers and rights. Maintenance of power to control the land of the dead ruler led to arguments on land ownership and civil wars (Classzone, 2018).
Temple of the Sun A Hindu temple dedicated to the sun god. A tourist destination and world heritage in Orissa.
meta A public service in the Inca empire that was compulsory. Led to the encomienda system after intensification by the Spanish government.
Inco socialism Historical phase of economic development that supersedes the capitalist approach. Allowed the Americans to be more unified and resulted in numerous jobs thus a more defined economy (Classzone, 2018).
quipu A method of communication and record keeping used by the Andean cultures. It was more precise, accurate and flexible as it could easily be moved around.

⇒ The civilization process flowed in the order in which the Aztec emerged in the years the 1200s where they preceded the Maya people who lived between 250 and 900 A.D, who was associated with much mathematical and writings systems development in the ancient days (Open Learn, Np).

⇒ The Incan didn’t significant much in the development of the number and writing systems but towards the building designs development and putting them up.

⇒ The Aztecs developed the 365 days agricultural calendar which applies to the present day in the area
Purpose:
(Why was this created? What does it teach the world today?)
⇒ In summary, the ancient people like Incan and Aztec contributed significantly to the current developments in the United States, especially South and Central parts (Classzone, 2018).
