Benjamin Franklin.
Benjamin Franklin is one of the founding fathers of America. He was a familiar and significant figure in the American society and the field and history of physics because of the discoveries he made regarding electricity.
He was born in Boston in 1706. In 1714, at eight years, he started studying at a grammar school. In 1721, he writes and sells ballads which were in print form. He moves to Philadelphia in 1723 and obtains employment at printing offices that belonged to Keimer. In 1724, he was convinced by Governor Keith, so that he could establish himself independently. He moves to London to work on his line of work. In 1726, he returns to Philadelphia and becomes the administrator of Keimer’s printing firm. In 1727, he set up the Junto club. He opened a printing office in 1728. He is appointed he proprietor an editor of Pennsylvania Gazette in 1729. The year 1730 marks his marriage to Rebecca Read. In 1731, he founded the Philadelphia library. He begins his Multilanguage study in the year 1735. He is appointed as the clerk of the General Assembly, and this was also when he made the Philadelphia Fire Department in 1736. In 1737, he planned city police after being elected to the Assembly. In 1744, he set up the American Philosophical Society. In 1749, he became the commissioner who oversees the trade with the Indians. In 1752, he carried out experimentations using a kite and made a discovery that lightning is a type of electrical emancipation.

In 1755, he gave out his property to raise supplies for the army. He presented a bill to the Assembly in 1757.
In 1762, he was acknowledged with a degree from Oxford and went back to America. He is defeated in re-election to the Assembly and is referred to England as Pennsylvania’s mediator in 1764. He acquires a telescope for the college of Harvard. In 1716 he was placed in a committee that is to draft a declaration for independence. In the same year, he is also sent to France as a colonies’ agent. In 1778, he accomplished agreements of a defensive coalition. In 1782, he signed the first documents of peace. In 1783, he signed a final peace treaty. He returns to America and is elected the president of Pennsylvania in 1785 and is re-elected in 1786 and 1787. He retires from being a public figure in 1788. He dies on April 17th, 1790 (Franklin, 2003).
