Even after the illegalization of abortion in the US, the use of that method in controlling birth rates is still rampant.

According to sources, one of every five pregnancies in the United States ends up in abortion whether willingly or unwillingly. In William Robinson’s words, there are more than one million abortions in America every year, and more than 25,000 women die as a result of the effects of such operations (Sanger 84).
Intended Audience
Evidently, the article is targeted on the American law courts are in the forefront in prohibiting abortion but rather allowing other birth control measures, yet they at the end serve the same purpose. In fact, most of the citizens are more into practising abortion that using the birth control methods (Sanger 84).
Conclusion
In summary, the enactments of abortion and birth control pill legislations have gone a long way in reducing birth rates among young women, especially minors. Additionally, abortion is indeed a great risk to the women health and even their lives since the chances of death are high. Melanie’s article is quite authoritative because the data presented is derived from official government databases and hence, best suits the intended audience. Indeed, legalization of the two reproductive health aspects was a prudent decision because young women can now use medically approved procedures in making critical health decisions. In effect, this will reduce severe complications that may result when such analytical reproductive health procedures are executed via unconventional approaches.
