Cesar Chavez
Cesar Chavez is a leader that has brought commendable farming reforms in the States and especially in Texas. Cesar Chavez is known for the contribution that he made as regards to the farm workers. He was a darling of many, yet, he was still tortured to some the residents in the early sixties to the late seventies. Consequently, as an activist he was common for the Chicano civil rights movement that were equally aggressive in its agenda. I argue that Cesar Chavez contributed immensely in the betterment of the society based workers who work in the farms through civil movements and united farm workers Union (UFW).
As much as the workers in the states had decided to strike because of the meager pay that they received from farming grapes, the movie Salt of the Earth had a great deal of influence. The movie that the workers watched was based on a boycott that had been carried out by workers in the mining industry. On checking the video, those who were striking from farming realized that they were only hundred men only while Salt of the Earth indicated the presence of women. It is this video that they watched while in Socreto that agitated the idea of inviting their wives. So, the wives joined in what was a boycott now and thousands more. Some of those who were involved in the boycott that entailed walking more than 300miles were used to get well wishers in town that they would soon conquer to join their movement.

The boycott that entailed the movement of the farm workers while not engaging in the farming of grapes. However, the Taft-Hartley Act shows that the boycott of failing to farm grapes was against the law in the United. It is based on this particular weakness that they sought strength in National Labor Relations Act of 1935.The law gave provision of boycotting of the grapes to supermarkets, groceries, and shops. Marcos was put to be in charge to ensure that the graves were not stocked at all. Now, it if from the combination of the 300 plus miles peaceful demonstration and supermarkets boycott that gave the United Farm Workers union the force to be heard.
Cesar Chavez at the end of all remains a voice to reckon because of the impact that he brought to the society. He led to improved treatment of the workers, better pay, and consequently improved working conditions. The better part of his activism is based familiar to many people and those who have written information regarding him because unlike others he advocated for peaceful demonstrations. However, during the later stages of the seventies, the strength that he had in the operationalization of the labor unions was not as much. The reason was the continuous increase in the number of unions that delighted in similar agenda of the farm workers.
In conclusion, it is clear that Cesar Chavez was dedicated in a selfless struggle in ensuring that the farmers in the United States are accorded a dignified treat just like other workers. Moreover, he did face challenges in the struggle to fight for the farmers. The challenges that he faced did not melt his concrete decision to serve the interest of the farmers who were poor. Finally, perseverance through peaceful demonstration and boycotts under his leadership and assistance by Marco bore fruits to this date.
