Civil War
The civil war of the year 1861 fought in the US, was mainly brought about by the controversies surrounding the enslavement of the black people. The outcome of the war led to the separation of 7 Southern slave-states from the country shortly after the inauguration of President Abraham Lincoln. The Secession forces created the affiliated state of America while the union consisted of the loyalties of the state that fought against the affiliates (Shmucker 101). Slavery was not the only cause of disunion since there were other causes however, it is important to know that it was the main cause. The introduction of the initial emancipation proclamation was a crucial aspect of the war, since it transformed the battles of stabilizing the nation to a fight for human liberty and equality to all (Guelzo 54). Although the civil war had a negative impact to the state, it led to the freedom of all the slaves and introduction of new laws that conserved the freedom of all Individuals while maintaining their loyalty to the country.
The one element that was achieved by the US after preserving the union was the end of slavery. Since the year 1863 and today, amendments were formulated in the constitution to make the abolition of slavery valid. In support of President Lincoln’s emancipation proclamation, the formation of the 13th amendment effectively turned the abolition of slavery into law across the US (Finkelman 1). With regards to the aftermath of the civil war, the 14th amendment was enacted that legalized and made available the federal legal protection to all American citizens regardless of their color, race, or ethnicity.

The final amendment enacted as a result of the civil war was the 15th amendment that abolished restrictions on voting by sensitizing that all US citizens are allowed to vote regardless of their race. It is correct to say that, the era of reconstruction was not an easy task since many things had been destroyed during the war and many things needed to be restored and formed. The achievement that came from the outcome of the civil war was one to do with the ending of slavery and construction of new acts that protected the rights of the blacks.
As a result of the civil war, the pledge of allegiance was written as an expression of allegiance to the flag and the republic of the United States. The pledge of allegiance was initially written by Francis Bellamy in the year 1892, but over the years some altercations have been made from the original wordings (Kelly 1). “I pledge allegiance to my flag and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible with liberty and justice for all” were the original wordings of Bellamy.
The first change of the pledge was done in the year 1923 and was fronted by the daughters of the American Revolution and the American legion (Kelly 1). They changed “my flag” with “the flag of the United States of America” so that the immigrants who enter the country must assert their allegiance to the state. The final altercations of the pledge were done in the year 1945 whereby “under God” were added to the pledge. Therefore, the current version goes by, “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it sands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
In conclusion, the civil war of America fought in the US was as a result of the controversy surrounding the enslavement of the blacks. Fighting for a good course is a morally correct thing to be done and Abraham Lincoln is a good example, for he fought against his fellow citizens for the ending of slavery. As I mentioned in the introduction, the civil war had a favorable outcome as it rendered all slaves free across the United States. To help all the slaves gain freedom, amendments were formulated to ensure their freedom. With all the advantages brought about by American civil war, it is correct to say that, as bad as the war was; something good came out of it and the loyalty to the state must be upheld by all citizens.
