Introduction
The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas (CBCC) prides itself as the first community-located blood center within North Carolina. The Center was created through efforts from different hospitals within Charlotte to meet the rising demands and the cost of blood. Based on the different integral strengths analyzed in the SWOT, it has achieved its goals despite the challenges.
Definition of the problem
There is a need for timely response and availability of safe blood for different healthcare systems to support the operations of CBCC.
Stakeholders
Hospitals in Charlotte have assessed the need to have safe and timely blood bank to address challenges within North Carolina. Within these operative guidelines, the SWOT analysis identified stakeholders to be the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), American’s Blood Centers (ABC), Association of Blood Banks (AABB), blood donors, blood recipients and healthcare providers within North Carolina. The stakeholders will help enhance strengths identified in the SWOT. For instance, the SWOT recognized that CBCC has medical experts who work to achieve the goals of successful blood transfusion.
Alternative solutions
One of the weaknesses identified in the SWOT was that CBCC could only collect half the amount of targeted blood units. It was also identified that the initial stages costs surpass the budget allocated to CBCC. Recent policy frameworks from studies such as Fox, Himawan and France (2018) noted that the solution to these challenges is to increase the number of the population who can be suitable for donation so that CBCC can effectively compete with Red Cross.

Evaluation of alternative solutions
CBCC should develop long-term strategic management to help create awareness of the need to donate blood, especially among the sponsor and donors.
Solutions and implementation with stakeholders
The decision makers include parent hospitals that integrated CBCC into action, potential donors, and the federal government in liaison with FDA. Since the problem is the inability to meet blood bank needs, these stakeholders should refocus their commitments, and levels of sponsorship so that CBCC can effectively solicit for donors within and outside North Carolina.
Conclusion and reflection
CBCC need to be concerned with the need to meet blood demand from people. However, for them to meet the targets, CBCC needs support from different stakeholders and specifically, the federal government in collaboration with FDA.
