Comparison of Festival Holi and Tomatina

Throughout history in all cultures, diverse customs and festivities have been created;some important and serious transmitted from thousands of years and others a little more new and fun, where the only thing that matters is that you enjoy them so much. Such is the case of the "Holi" holiday in India and "La Tomatina" in Spain.

"Holi"

This is the beginning and celebration of spring, it is a Hindu religious festival that has been held approximately since 1885 and although there are several legends and rituals, the most characteristic is the festival of bright colors where everyone throws paint at the feetof one of the temples with a duration of two days. The most important thing about this is the meaning that is managed to give; For some it is another beginning of the year where everything is forgiven and the mistakes made are forgotten, while for others it is time to celebrate love and be accompanied by loved ones.

"The Tomatina"

“La Tomatina” takes place in the Valencian municipality of Buñol (Spain) on the last Wednesday of August, it is practically only to launch tomatoes in the town’s square. It always begins at 11 noon and more than two trucks full of tomatoes offer them to make the start holiday. The origin of the holiday is not known exactly but it is thought that it begins with a war of tomatoes among young people in a market in the year of 1945 where the following years continued.

Wait! Comparison Of Festival Holi And Tomatina paper is just an example!

Comparison

Analyzing we can find that both parties have the same fact of interacting and throwing something; In India colored paintings and in Spain tomatoes. However, I think "Holi" has a deeper and more pure meaning where people reflect and welcome a new season, while "Tomatina" seems to be more brushing and not with much sense behind her. Reflection of writing on this issue because it seemed very sorprove to you the fact that in Spain they can have such a celebration, taking tomatoes for more than an hour without any meaning, just for fun for fun.

I sincerely think that the similarities mentioned above are because among all cultures there is a taste for fun and living together being strangers for the mere fact of having something in common, be it nationality, religion, etc. When investigating, I realized that Holi, despite being from the Hindu religion, many foreigners find her fun and interesting that they even travel to celebrate it and the same happens with "La Tomatina", both parties fulfill the purpose of joining many peopleAnd have a good time together, forgetting the rest.
