The scene was dark, and the security light adjacent to the parking garage was off. The victim was lying sideways, and his clothes covered in blood. The decedent, a white teenager, was lying on the pavement adjacent to the parking lot. The left door of the blue sedan adjacent to the victim was half-way open. Nothing else had was moved at the scene of the crime. The victim was wearing shorts and a tan jacket. He did have neither shoes nor sandals; he was barefooted. His phone and identity documents were missing. The blue sedan’s trunk was wide open, and everything inside was untidy.
Officers Jake and Paul conducted a quick check before loading the body into a body bag and transporting it to the morgue. A post-mortem analysis was performed on the body by a government pathologist to determine the possible cause of death. Three individuals volunteered to record statements with the local police department following the shooting incident. All three were at the scene of the crime when the incident happened. The post-mortem results alongside information collected at the crime scene and the testimonies of the eyewitnesses helped in the investigation the case.
