Reasons why Government Should Remove Statutory on Nurses and Physician Assistants
Primary care doctors and physician assistants are crucial in the healthcare system. They work together in offering health services to patients. As the health care system evolves, there has been an overlap of roles played by the doctors and physician assistants, though the part of offering prescription only belongs to doctors. This idea has raised a debate on whether physician assistants can perform the function of doctors owing the fact that they would provide their services at a lower cost than doctors. Physical assistants perform duties performed by doctors as good as doctors can and at a fair price.
It is clear that physician assistants have the skills and knowledge to offer a prescription, but the statutory regulation restricts them. The health care system is a sensitive sector and requires a high level of control. The government has always regulated physical assistants from offering a prescription to patients as a result of tight regulation in the sector rather than lack of skill and knowledge on the part of nurses and physician assistants.
Nurses and physical practitioners should also be allowed to work independently of primary doctors as a way to address the current shortage of medical practitioners in the health care sector. A lot of resources are used to train both nurses and physician assistants, and it would be efficient to the health care system if they could offer prescription independently of doctors.

Wait! debate paper is just an example!

They would provide their services at a much lower cost compared to doctors (McCartney, 2017). Both physical assistants and nurses currently have a very significant role in offering health care services more than doctors though they work in collaboration.
In case the statutory limitation on nurses and physician assistants is removed, the level of competition would increase. The fact that nurses and physician assistants would be able to compete with doctors means that there would be more medical professionals who can offer a prescription to patients. This move would increase the level of competition in the medical services market.
In conclusion, the government should remove the statutory limitation on nurses, and physician assistant as both of these medical practitioner has both knowledge and skills to perform prescription (Ehrenberg, 2016). This move would make the health system to efficient as they would offer their services at a much lower cost.
