Depression disorder in the educational system

In the following monographic work I have addressed an issue that is increasingly taking a greater prominence in the current social and educational scenario. However, it is not because in the past it did not exist, but it was more unknown; He attributed to other issues, or was directly ignored. I am talking about depression in children in the school stage. Depression is a disease that also affects adults and can lead to terrible consequences. Due to my interest in knowing how children affects, how can it be detected and how their treatment can be addressed;I have done a search for information and a reflection on this matter.

What is depression?

First, from a general level, depression is a very common mental illness worldwide, and it is estimated that around 300 million people suffer from it. This disease is different from the usual modifications of mood and emotional responses briefly to the problems that take place during everyday life. It is possible that it becomes a serious health problem, particularly when it is long -lasting and of moderate to serious intensity. In many cases it can cause great suffering and affect family, school and labor activities. When the disease is very complicated, in the worst case it can lead to suicide. Every year about 800 takes place.000 suicides, and suicide is the second cause of death between people with ages between 15 to 29 years.

Depression also affects children. Their lack of maturity makes them more vulnerable people to this disease, and they are not always able to describe what they feel, and externalize by what they are happening.

Wait! Depression Disorder In The Educational System paper is just an example!

Currently, cases of children diagnosed with depressive disorders are increasingly notified. Child depression has always existed, as collected in some texts from doctors and clinical pediatricians in direct contact with depressive children, although it was not assumed as a clinical entity until the 1970s in the United States. And in Europe; It would be in Stockholm when in 1971 during the IV Congress of the Union of European Paidopsiquiatras where the resolution is reached that depression also affects children and adolescents. In this way it goes from being a simple word in a writing, such as melancholy, or the narration of a suicide case carried out by a minor, to constitute one of the most interesting issues in psychiatry and child psychology. Proof of this is the extensive bibliography that exists in its diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, intervention programs, epidemiological analysis … etc.

In 1974 the International Committee for the Prevention and Treatment of Depression appears. The celebration of the first symposium of this committee in Spain takes place in 1983, being one of the communications "repercussions of depression on teaching" of R. Pons Bartran. This communication refers to the depression of parents and their impact on children during the school stage, and the relationship between depression and exams.
