Introduction
Electronic Health Records refer to systems whose chief aim is to make available a patient’s health records. The technological aspect of the system ensures that the system works appropriately. The system also avails this information over a wider geographical location thus making it easier to assist a patient on the go no matter their location. This element of the system brings about coordination. Therefore, to implement an Electronic Health Record successfully, a good network connection needs to be implemented. The implementation of HER is not limited to a given type of medical purpose. However, the medical installation intending to implement the system may decide to focus on a given type of medical service. To fully understand the effectiveness of HER, it is important to discuss its two key elements. These are the coordination and the technology. The system utilizes these aspects to provide the desired results.
Technology & Quality
Most of the initial technologies involved the implementation of systems that are stand alone on a single computer. However, the modern times have brought about systems that are always available online and are consistently updating their databases via closed networks that make use of virtual private networks (Cucciniello et al., 2015). The most recent application of the systems is the introduction of mobile systems. These are applicable on smartphones and tablets. This makes it easy for the medical practitioner to collect the information from any location they decide to do so.

This is provided that the location has mobile phone network service (Cucciniello et al., 2015). The quality of the network technologies has improved in accordance with the increased bandwidth requirements for the system. This has resulted in an increase in the speeds with which such information may be accessed. Therefore, this makes it easier for the patient to access their data quickly.
Coordinated Care
Coordinated care refers to the ability of receiving care from different practitioners the difference in geographical distance as well as individual health records. The coordination is brought about by the availability of the patient’s information over the network providing the practitioners with the most recent information regarding the patient’s health status (Forchuk et al., 2015). The importance of such a system is that it allows the practitioner to help a patient who may has lost their physical records. It also helps in retrieving information regarding a patient who does not have the capacity to share such information (Forchuk et al., 2015). For instance, patients brought in through the ER section may be in a state that providing such information may be difficult. However, feeding the system with the patient’s identification details will allow the coordination of treatment. It will also be possible to update the patient’s new medical record.
Conclusion
The introduction of an Electronic Health Record System is advantageous both to the medical practitioners and the patients. To the practitioner, the technological systems make the creations and storage of records much easier. It also makes the process of retrieving such record much faster. The practitioner also has the advantage of being able to access the information while mobile via their smart phones. The increase in ease of access makes the flow of credible information faster and effective. This translates to faster and more effective services to the client. The service also provides several advantages o the client. The coordination resulting from the implementation of the system improves the quality of service. It also ensures that the patient receives timely information and feedback from the medical practitioner. The implementation of the EHR generally ensures a smooth provision of services to the patient.
