Racism, School Desegregation Laws and Civil Rights Movement in America
Racism is a social thorn ever since slavery was introduced in the United States of America in the early 18 century. Dissimilar to this belief, earlier it was the law of the land that the black community often referred to as the Negro, to be segregated and be submitted to torture and mistreatment for they were property. This article highlights the incidence that occurred in Charlton, Texas during 1950 and recent times, showing how the social injustices have been modified and resolved during the particular period.
As portrayed from the documentary, civil rights movements was a struggle against the social prejudice that had initially that took place in Charlton, Texas. The black populace of this state had taken up arms to fight alongside segregation that had blanketed the education system. Moreover, the faction had gained support when the supreme courts made segregation illegal in public institutions. Following this ruling, John Casper who was an activist at that particular time organized campaigns against the judicial verdict that shocked the community. As a result, fellow communities in and around Texas were inspired by the courage of the citizens of Charlton. Needless to say, subsequent events took place following the revolt that was inspired at Texas. These events led an uprising of other activists such as the Black Panther and the left wing among other groups and divisions.

They fought with their lives to have equal rights with the white community, right to give the African Americans employment, land ownership and eradicate black suffrage.
In summary, the events consequent to the uprising at Charlton led to the birth of activists like Dr. King and Malcolm X who steered the black community with beliefs and ideology that eventually led to the current freedom that the African Americans enjoy at these current days. Make no mistake; there are still reports of racism in America among certain individuals who openly desegregate in the black populace even though it is against the law. However, things have changed from the radical times to now where racism is growing to be thing of the past; the law needs to protect its citizen irrespective of ethnicity for all lives matter including the black.
