Estales in the Middle Ages, privileged and non -privileged people

To understand the education that was received during the Middle Ages and the people who receive it, it is important to first understand the historical context. The Middle Ages is known as the historical period of civilization belonging to the western part that has its beginning in the year 476 with the fall of the Roman Empire and ends in 1492 with the discovery of America.

The estates of the Middle Ages were divided into four steps or large social groups that fragmented into two divisions which took the name of dominant and dominated, which as time passed were known as privileged and not privileged people.

On their first level were the kings who were in charge of ordering the fighting, wars or battles, since they decided whether it was convenient to attack their adversaries or not. Because of this they were in the highest power and with total authority within the step belonging to the nobility. The kings reached these steps through the lineage, in addition to being in the highest social class if they had the right to education (Rodríguez de la Peña, 19).

As the next subgroup of the first estate were the nobles and their role within civilizations was to take care of certain orders that came from the king, they chose the candidates to occupy the position of gentlemen within the wars or battles.

During the Middle Ages specifically in Western Europe to be a gentleman, the exercise of weapons, the ability to make riding, knowing how to play some musical instrument, dance and practice some kind of game, especially chess.

Wait! Estales In The Middle Ages, Privileged And Non -Privileged People paper is just an example!

The gentlemen should know how to defend the interests of the king and defend the people. However, the gentlemen not only had the ability to serve the nation with excellence and know how. But despite this the gentlemen belonged to the lowest level within the first step of the hierarchical pyramid of that time and its function was to protect and be ready in case a fight, battle, war (Beceiro Pita, 2019).

It should be noted that in order to be part of this social group, the ancestral lineage and history of each person was also an influential factor, since this distinguished them from the other classes.

Once said, it can be stated that medieval clergymen were descendants of original lineages from the medieval urban world belonging to the West, they represented intellectuals, since they held roles of thinkers and teachers because they transmitted literary traditions. (LEGOF, 1957)

In the second social estate were an assigned space for the Church, because at this social level there were all those who had a relationship with Abades since they were responsible for receiving their orders, that is, at this level were the bishops, priests or monks. All of them take care of specific functions such as work and studies. His tasks were copying and writing books. Because previously stated, the Church and religion were factors that were responsible for education and studies that could obtain this privilege, these subjects lived in monasteries.

At this point it is essential to specify that there was a large illiteracy index, since the subjects that belonged to the unpricted groups could not access education while the people who belonged to the Church were the richest in knowledge, since theyThey should know the Latin language, since it was the language that was spoken at that time while the other people who obviously belonged to the clergy and the ruling classes obtained a memoristic education with this we refer to that most had basic knowledge and withThis was enough because they were memorized.

Due to the new economic activities during the Middle Ages, a new social group emerged in which the merchants and artisans who specialized from the exchange of products were highlighted, in addition, gold and silver coins began to be used and the first letters and the first lettersexchange. These subjects were already part of the illiterate population, since their resources were not enough to obtain education. These subjects were called bourgeois, they were given this name because these people belonging to this social estate did not remain in rural areas, but on the contrary they established themselves in the old feudal cities that were created from fortification or Burgo.

On the last step were the peasants this group had a large number of people because it was the last estate obviously belonged to the group of non -privileged, since they only had the right to a minimum part of the salary, which was an unfair conditionBecause his work was that the land of the privileged in an extensive and inhuman conditions should work. The majority of this group had no freedom and had to pay taxes to their lords, since they depended on the feudal lords and a large percentage was servants. There were only a few who could have their own lands without depending on anyone. This also allows it to be taken into account that due to their low resources and ancestors are not people suitable for reaching an education level which made them illiterate, lacking knowledge.
