Introduction Statement
For a very long time, there have been unethical and corrupt practices taking place in the States government. Notably, most of these unethical practices have been carried out by national security officers both the highest and lowest ranked. The national security officials should be the ones with the highest ethical standards as an example to show other professions the importance of doing the right thing (Bromell, 2012). The national security should have enough knowledge on ethical deliberations since they are crucial in making a moral judgment. National security executives find it difficult to do well and do the right thing which led to citizens mistrusting the department.
Claims for Thesis Statement
When an individual has the moral knowledge, they can question assumptions that are usually never questions in areas like politics and businesses. Police enforcement should be the people who lead by example, but you find that they make deals with criminals at a fee.
Questioning the national security system should be promoted to allow citizens to have confidence in the justice department (Caldero and Crank, 2010). Some of these questions would include functional prisons, equality at the workplace, law enforcement roles, state authority and equal opportunities. It is important to note that studying ethics is the only way that unethical behavior can be identified since the knowledge gained will help in determining what is right or wrong(Chauhan and Srivastava, 2009).

Every day we read or watch stories of law enforcement officers who do wrong by compromising with criminals with power and authority some of them even are dangerous in the society, but they change jeopardize their morals for a fee.
Evidence Collected
In Lovelady (1992) study, it was observed that the national security officers, military and civilian have an immense power to form policy development and implementation and for that reason, they always get caught up in ethical dilemmas. They can, therefore, make or destroy organizations as they are responsible for the everyday decisions of the government. Roufa (2017) in an article about “Ethics in Law Enforcement and Policing” explains that the Law enforcers are the people that get scrutinized the most because the public hopes to look up to them as reliable leaders. Another reason why police officers get a lot of scrutinies is that the public hopes to catch them engaging in unethical behavior to prove that they are corrupt. Schudson (2015) notes that the American founders were not interested in democracy as they deemed it undesirable and unstable. The article also observes that activists will accept a lot of limitations for the transparency they advocate for; therefore do not receive full transparency in the national security.
Further Souryal (2010) in research about “Ethics in Criminal Justice” also talked about the importance of having ethical standards in the police department and how the police force should be able to do the right thing for the safety of the public. Moreover, Dunlap (2011) explains that the society finds it important to respect and follow the law and it is for this reason that enemies attacked the police plans as illegal and claimed that the way they are executed is not according to the law.
Conclusion
It is clear that ethics are crucial in the national security, but it becomes quite challenging as they get faced with the problematic situations that threaten their principles. The public pays attention to the police department more than any other profession since they expect these officers to uphold the law and keep everyone safe. It is up to the National Security to ensure that they get rid of all the bureaucrats who cut corners for criminals for their benefit. These selfish individuals in the national security make it difficult to do well and do the right thing which has destroyed a whole department and citizens no longer have confidence in the national security.
