Interest in career possibilities
I find these specialties quite interesting especially the experimental psychology. This is because I have always had numerous questions regarding human beings and animals. This means that in addition to my interest in studying human behaviors and cognition I as well wish that I can extensively study some animals such as pigeons, rats, and monkeys and I believe experimental psychology can help me in this. On the other hand, forensic psychology also is also interesting as it deals with law and criminal. This is interesting to me as I like understanding human functioning thus this field can help me understand why criminals engage in criminal acts.
Lesson learned about the two subspecialties
I have learned a lot of crucial things regarding experimental psychology careers. I now know is that specializing in the area does not limit one to being a researcher rather there are various jobs that one can take. These include; aerospace experimental psychologist, university or college faculty, and human factor engineer (Sahil, 2017). Additionally, I have learned how forensic psychologists apply their knowledge in understanding various aspects of the legal system.
Real world application of the two areas
Experimental psychology can help solve real-world problems. For instance, as Sahil (2017) highlights a human factor engineer can help an organization in designing better machines, work environments, and systems that are more effective.

This can be done through an exploration of the impacts systems and machines have on productivity then applying these in the workplace. Franklin (2014) notes that forensic psychology can be used in conducting an evaluation of crime witnesses to assess if they are telling the truth in their testimonies.
