In scientific research, any fact indicated in the research paper should be accompanied with the proof that indeed the study carried out confirmed the claim. However, supporting facts is not merely citing the area where facts tend to appears. Correct citing should be done with the right material and the information contained in the resources used. Focusing on the article which states, “Because E coli represent the majority of urinary isolates among nursing home residents, cranberry products remain an appealing UTI prevention strategy, but the evidence is conflicting.” The article is cited from the information from “Cranberry-containing products for prevention of urinary tract infections in susceptible populations: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.” According to the information in the source used to cite the above information in the article, the statement matches with the information provided in the reference.
The results part of the source used indicates that though cranberry-containing products were effective in preventing UTI, the effectiveness varies depending on the several subgroups.
