My eyes are scrutinizing through the first camera’s lens, observing and filing a moment that truly defined and revitalized my future. My settings on the Nikon D3400 camera was utilized to seek a person’s individuality by capturing special moments that share a story, personality, or emotion. This camera’s lens was critical to the shaping of new memories that will be eternal. It brought an intense feeling of aspiration that prevailed over my viewership, myself included. It then realized that I created a novel dimension of the world.
It was on a Monday morning, 11 am to be precise, when the school bell rang to signify that it was time to move on. Students poured into the small classroom in the basement, quickly settling on the seats amongst the plethora of cramped desks. Mr. B walks in through the back door while saying, “Good Morning Bonnies, I hope you’re ready to create your own VP movie. The deadline is this Monday.” VP is an acronym for Visual Perception. Mr. B wanted us to make a movie that visually interprets the surrounding environment. During the class session, my group and I came up with a 6-minute script that pertained a horror movie which we had viewed a few weeks ago, called ‘The Boy.’ Because of zeal in undertaking the project, combined with our creativity, we were able to create a visual perception movie that was greatly appealing. In this manner, we were able to attain the top three position within the grading of the class.

Although the primary purpose was to tell a story, we made as visually interesting as possible. The major question that motivated us to create the narrative was how the viewers would be fully immersed in the story. The major concept of engagement in the film was awareness, and we capitalized on that by particularly directing the active attention in certain scenes. To make sure that we could manipulate the attention of the viewership, we allowed the engagement of the viewer to the film’s plot. This entailed processes like scene complexity and cutting that were used to alter the visual momentum of the films.
We also included elements of first-person viewership for narrative engagement purposes to optically mobilize the attention of the viewership. This is because the points of view allow the viewers to experience the unfolding of events from the protagonist’s eyes. Most critically, we incorporated great audio background with crisp quality to run in sync with the visual perceptions. These excellent combinations created an avenue for the immersion of the viewer into the story. In order to control the movie’s tone and change it according to the setting desired, we manipulated the lighting. This was as we learned, another important aspect of filmmaking.
We were very confident in our project because we had put in a lot of research, effort, and experimentations. We tried out different iterations to come up with the best movie. Our efforts were clearly rewarded by the happy and excited viewership. Mr. B was very impressed, and he congratulated us on a job well done. He also advised us on areas that we could improve like in sounds and editing of scenes. We were very proud of our very first creation as it was a great success. We had gained a lot of experiences and skills, and it was an excellent avenue for the betterment of our skills towards the fulfillment of a great career.
