Admission Essay: Roles, Responsibilities, and Challenges
CURRENT ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND CHALLENGES
Current Organizational Role. I presently augment the evidence-based operations of Kuwait Petroleum International; rendering my expertise and services as a Financial Analyst. Since the attainment of my Bachelors in Industrial Engineering and Management Systems, I have spent a decade building my capacity to conquer the disruptive environment of the global financial and capital markets. As a certified Level III CFA candidate, CVA, CAIA, and IFQ accredited professional; my current job revolves around building DCF models for acquired new joint venture plans as international assets with operations concerning various enterprises and conglomerates, especially European in origin. This also includes the handling of logistics and sales for shipping and finding customers for our downstream oils, specifically for the local market.
Responsibilities. In the centralized operations of oil and gas, within the realm of finance, both responsibilities and opportunities are numerous in number and equally intricate by nature. I am passionate about my work, which involves around enacting complex fiscal and physical operationalization of organizational interventions, including but not limiting to establishing costing standards; aggregating and eliciting benefit from operational data; providing evaluative trends and forecasts through economic models that direct capital funding; establishing holistic stratagems to realize organizational objectives and coordinating the contribution of the respective enterprise to stay in accordance with the publicly – initiated development plan of Kuwait.

Challenges. With the rampant and insolvable problem of data deluge prevalent in the market; the precedence of trust has been debilitated in the world of business. Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Distributed Ledger Technologies, and the Internet of Things have propelled both the vitality and viability of unprecedented business use cases together with the level of service expected by the digitally aware consumer, to achieve new thresholds. Traditional business has gone extinct and both the value and cost of innovation has risen. These are the challenges that I currently face in my profession and according to my research, reiterative capacity building and the harnessing of a transdisciplinary approach utilizing both cutting-edge technological contrivances and evidence-based best practices, within the discipline of finance, is the only way to master the ensuing disruption of the 21st century.
PRIMARY GOALS AND ELEMENTS
Primary Goal. The primary goal of mine is to supplement my solution provision capabilities and expertise within the dynamic banking sector to better serve the interests of organizations that are transitioning towards becoming digital enterprises and the digitally empowered consumers to satisfy their rising expectations. The prestigious global banking program under the reputable Columba Business School shall provide me with an opportunity to learned from renowned practitioners and academicians in this attempt to better devise and utilize hybridized technological and financial constructs to create opportunities of wealth creation and catalyzation while ensuring transparency and accountability within the fiscal systems of today that have gone devoid of such cardinal functionalities.
Program Elements. All the three tributaries of the Global Banking Program, Fintech, Digital, and Analytics, are the three primary reasons and program elements that motivate me to prove myself as an asset to the university and a viable investment and value stock for the time and energies of accomplished market leaders and finance researchers. The system models within the Fintech industry are at their formative stages and the program has a significant focus on such an element. Moreover, The Digital and Analytical segments, such as cryptocurrencies, robot-advisers, and notions of digital transformations is what I truly seek to enhance my expertise in within the banking sector. Such a holistically designed and meticulously prepared curriculum and capacity building opportunities is a blessing in today’s age and I shall be honored if selected to pursue my dream and sharpen my skills under your guidance.
