Hamlet’s tragedy

Introduction

The tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, is one of the great monuments of Western literature. The work, written by Shakespeare between 1599 and 1601 and set in medieval Denmark, addresses the issue of revenge. Hamlet and that medieval Denmark have much to teach us about the need for an independent justice administration system.

Developing

Hamlet is depressed. His father, the king of Denmark, has just died. His mother, the queen, marries Claudio, who becomes the new king. One night, a spectrum appears to him, he assures him to be his father’s ghost, he tells him that Claudio murdered him and asks him to vain his death. But Hamlet doubts. Try to test the words of the ghost and, when he finally convinces himself, let the opportunity to kill Claudio because he finds him praying and fears that, when he dies, his soul goes to heaven and not to hell. Only when four acts and several soliloquies have passed on the nature of the human condition, being or not, that is the question, Hamlet decides to execute revenge. Until the lack of diligence of Hamlet causes the death of seven innocent people, whose death was not necessary to achieve justice.

Judge Richard Posner says that in Hamlet we learn about the need for an independent justice administration system for his absence. The king is above the law and Hamlet only has private revenge. But, as the work shows, revenge is complicated and expensive. First, in the absence of a specialized research and proof system, Hamlet takes too long because he doesn’t know how to discover the truth.

Wait! Hamlet’S Tragedy paper is just an example!

Second, revenge is carried out by an inexperienced and improvised person. Hamlet says about himself than the little used hand has the most delicate sensitivity. Third, the avenger, who is a judge in his own cause, tends to magnify the damage and to seek disproportionate punishment, because, in the words of one of the avengers of the work, revenge should not have limits.

The correct one began a cycle of violence in Ecuador, like the one that Claudio began in Denmark. This violence was specified in using power to persecute political adversaries and misery their lives, and disguise some gangsters in entrepreneurs and make them millionaires. This was possible because he put his hands to justice. The judges were subjected to political power and the Correísas, like Claudio, were above the law.

conclusion

In the absence of an independent judicial system, revenge appears as the only alternative. But a society of avengers is inefficient and violent. That is why the dismissal of the members of the Judicial Council, the repeal of the inexcusable error as a political pressure mechanism, and the appointment of independent judges is so important. Hamlet teaches us that in a country where the administration of justice is in the hands of criminals, everything is lost.
