Abstract
Healthcare medical terminologies provide the basis of communication within the healthcare field. All interactions between health care professionals, students, patients, and nonclinical staff depend on the ability of each one of them to understand the meanings of each medical expressions, both spoken and written. The article analyzes some of the benefits of all stakeholders within the healthcare field using phrases that are universally recognized and imply similar meanings in all medical environments. All healthcare activities in medical institutions are productive when the health practitioners communicate using common abbreviations and phrases that are universally recognized by all healthcare professionals. The article also captures the fact that the tendency of healthcare interns to use medical terms in hospitals increases their chances of securing jobs once they are done with their education. Moreover, interacting with patients using the medical terms positively affects their treatment process and improves their level of satisfaction. As a result, healthcare terminologies plays a significant role in the quality of healthcare delivery.

All healthcare students and professionals are expected to comfortably use medical terminologies when communicating both by writing and speaking when in a healthcare environment. According to Markham (2016), clinical interns with the ability to use medical terms during training have a competitive advantage in the job market. The use of medical terminologies reflects one’s ability to interact smoothly with other medical professionals. In this case, everyone can understand all the different medical procedures and medications. Understanding medical terminologies also improve patient safety by decreasing instances of practitioners making mistakes during care delivery. Cardillo (2015) adds that using medical expressions in hospital enhance patient experience as it helps the patient to understand what the terms mean, make them feel part of the care team, and generally improves patient satisfaction. Lastly, efficient care delivery is achieved when the medical staff communicates with abbreviations and terms that can be understood throughout the hospital.
