Employee Turnover Rates
Turnover Rates in the Healthcare Sector
The healthcare industry continues to realize high labor turnover rates. The rate at which top talents leave their jobs for other options remains alarming. According to Rosenbaum (2018), the average turnover rates reached 20.6%. This was higher than in 2010 where the turnover rates were at 15.6%. The turnover rates also increased from 15.6% in 2010 to 19.9% in 2016. From a trend analysis, the year 2017 recorded the highest turnover rates in the healthcare industry. The turnover rates have negative effects on the healthcare sector because the efficiency of the industry relies on retention of top talent for its organizations.
Turnover Rates in the Hospitality Industry
The hospitality industry realizes the highest turnover ratios worldwide. In the United States, the industry realizes up to 70% turnover rates. The Washington Hospitality Association (2016) ranks this industry the highest in terms of losing its top talent to other sectors. The turnover ratios in the hospitality industry cannot be sustained unless strategic recommendations are drawn to control the numbers.
Causes and Remedies of Employee Turnover
In a study by Holston-Okae (2018), employee compensation is the most significant cause of high turnover rates. Often, the top talents quit their jobs for higher-paying opportunities. The researcher also cited engagement and embeddedness as another cause of high turnover rates.

Wait! Human Resources Critical thinking paper is just an example!

Workers feel detached from organizations that do not engage them in decision-making processes. Also, job dissatisfaction also makes top talent move from one organization or industry to another in research of better jobs. Other causes include poor motivation and inappropriate working environment. To keep turnover rates at the most sustainable levels, an organization should focus on employee motivation. The strategy covers other factors such as remuneration, work environment and job satisfaction. Motivated employees strive to retain their jobs.
