Martin Luther King’s I Have a Dream
Martin Luther King was a leader who was determined to see real change in America. In his time, the USA was facing a lot of problems one of them being lack of segregation of the Africa-American. As a result, he was a champion of the much-needed change in America. He worked hard despite many obstacles to make sure that his people were liberated from segregation (Lucas 5). Correspondingly, he prepared many meeting where people who shared the same inspiration congress to air their views. He was indeed a soldier who encouraged people to stand for what they believed in.
In his speech “I Have a Dream,” he opens by stating, categorically, that he looks forward to the time when his children could be judged on the level of their skills and knowledge but not by their skin “I have dream that one day my four children will live in a nation not changed by the color of their skin” (Luther 27). The main message conveyed was that of reminding Americans that they should not stop anticipating for change. Some people did not believe that it would be possible to have Africa-American be free to make their choices without being forced to do one thing or the other.
His main message was that all men are created equal. He believed that all people regardless of their race must have equal opportunities. Therefore, the black community should not be alienated from the right to liberty “I am not unmindful that some of you come here out of great trials and tribulations” (Luther 29).

His argument was concise and compelling. He was determined to change the attitude that was ingrained in peoples’ mind that some people are more equal than the others (Lucas 10). Luther was a keen researcher as he read the Bible, the Declaration of Independence and Gettysburg speech, and he alluded his message from these documents.
Intuitively, he was able to defend his position fiercely. With this determination; he was able to conceive the leaders of the day to amend the constitution. He believed that everyone had a right to vote as he quoted that that time has come for the liberation of the black people.
