Subject: How to Throw a Football
Many footballers understand that throwing a football as an easy concept, but throwing it perfectly is not. Players need to observe certain mechanics that relate to throwing a football to ensure that they do with the proper form. Coaches also need to offer players several points that would help them to be effective in the pitch and establish an easy routine to throw a ball. Also, players should be coachable and embrace great listening skills by being attentive and taking instructions. When I was reviewing these instructions online (“How to Throw a Football with a Perfect, Powerful Spiral – A Visual Guide.”) I found them to be inefficient and difficult for a player to follow. This memo analyzes the weak and strong points on how to throw a football as well as providing recommendations for improvements.

Weak Points
Before the instructions set, it would be appropriate to specify that there is a different kind of football such as American football and soccer. A reader might be confused to understand whether it is the right tutorial since due to lack of specification.
It lacks background information to illustrate and introduce the reader the intended purpose of the tutorial.
The instructions lack cautions and do not warn the reader of the possibility of getting an injury and hence take precautionary measures.
The procedure is effective, but it might not fit players who might not be quite familiar with some aspects of throwing a football such as how to hold a ball when you have small fingers.
The instructions are quite short and do not provide any elaborations to guide a reader to a more profound understanding further.
Recommendations
I would recommend additional steps and procedures that would help players grip the ball correctly and make a perfect spiral. The first step would entail positioning the fingers between the laces of the football and placing the ring and pinkie finger of the throwing hand under the thumb on the other side of the ball. Such an aspect would help those players who have even small hands to hold the ball comfortably. The other element is the correct positioning of the feet where a player should stand with the shoulder width apart to allow flexing of the knees. It is also essential to distribute the weight proportionately so that it is back on the hind limbs to let perfect pass.
Original Instructions Set
Hold the ball closer to the chest
Bend the knee slightly. However, the bend should not be too deep but should accommodate at least 70% of the back foot weight.
Stand with the feet and the shoulder apart.
Grip for around 3 to 4 laces on the back half of the ball to acquire a comfortable grip.
Draw the grips higher to pull the ball backs and ensure it is in line with the ear.
Grip the ball with the fingertips to create an air pocket between the palm and the ball.
Pull the left arm downwards to begin a hip rotation and release the spring to establish speed, distance, and power.
Open shoulder to face the target.
Position the front foot forward.
Allow the hip to rotate and keep the throwing arm forward.
Release the ball by starting the spiral rotation and ensuring the thumb points downwards.
Direct all the weight to the foot.
Continue to release the ball by ensuring the throwing hand is around the opposite pocket.
Bask in the impressive athleticism before being get sacked.
Revised Instructions
Grip the ball by holding it with the ring and little fingers crossing the laces and the underneath thumb. Also, the index finger should draw an “L” shape.

Position the body in the throwing stance by facing away from the target in a 90 degrees angle. Turn left if you wish to throw with the right hand, turn the pivot foot and point toward the target by focusing on the target. However, avoid straining so much to a possible arm injury.

Hold the ball closer to the ear and stabilize it with the non-throwing arm to ensure you are prepared to make a quick throw and reduce the risks of telegraphing the pass to an opponent.

Release the head non-throwing hand from the ball and wind the throwing hand to stop behind the ear.

Swing the throwing arm forward and in a circular motion to release the ball through the circle. The other hand should be facing toward the non-dominant hip while the palm should face away.

Conclusion
If you are having difficulty to throw a perfect spiral, ensure you select a perfect and sizeable ball that fits your fingers. Also, holding the ball is an important aspect and make sure you place the ring finger across the laces and ensure the thumb is underneath, and the index finger rests over the seam. However, a player should concentrate on how to release the ball and a follow up to ensure a tight spiral and at the same time turning the hips and shifting the weight to have a perfect distance. Bad throws occur when a footballer only focuses on the throw.
