Iraq and Afghanistan
In broad terms, these two countries have several common characteristics which position them in the world’s global map. However, one thing that has prevailed in these nations over the last few decades is a period of persistent and destructive wars which have ruined not only their basic infrastructure but also the lives of the people living in these countries. To be precise, the Iraq and Afghanistan war has set a center stage of all the conflicts experienced in these countries today and in the last few decades. In this case, several weaknesses can be attributed to the current situation experienced in these two Arabic nations. In this paper, it will point out the weaknesses in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, it will provide viable approaches that will help solve the conflicts in these nations. Also, the paper will discuss the effects of the United States involvement in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
In an attempt to point out the flaws in these countries, it is reasonably relevant to indicate that one of the major problem facing both Afghanistan and Iraq is the presence of an incompetent and unstable government administration. Both these two nations have a political administration which has minimal control over their respective countries. In this case, it has become a major problem which has escalated to the persistent uprising of illegal militia groups and terrorist unions. For instance, the Iraq administration led by the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has failed to unite the country’s citizens, particularly, the Shiite and Sunni Islamic groups in the country.

Wait! Iraq and Afghanistan paper is just an example!

In several occasions, the Afghanistan government has been reported to have been struggling very hard to survive due to its instability and incompetence. As such, it has been challenging for the Afghan administration to formulate effective policies and approaches to counter the Taliban militants. Besides the huge investment by the United States towards building democratic political administration in these countries, there have been little signs indicating the presence of a stable and competent government in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The unorganized and incompetent military structure is yet another weakness prevailing in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not only is it a significant problem towards fighting the militia groups in these countries but also it threatens the political stability of these countries. Even in the most democratic countries, a stable and well-structured military play a significant role in the country’s democracy and stability. In Iraq and Afghanistan, the Taliban forces and other illegal terrorist’s groups possess a well-organized militia structure than that of the countries’ military forces. In this case, it is undeniably clear that with the current military structure in these Arabic nations it will be extremely difficult to solve the growing tensions and conflicts in these regions.
Over the recent decades, the United States has undertaken a significant role through its involvement in the issues affecting Iraq and Afghanistan. Some individuals argue that the United States has taken things too far in its activities in these two nations. With the obvious notion that the country is responsible for fueling both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, it is crystal clear that the United States government has extended its participation to extreme levels which has left more harm than good in both Iraq and Afghan regions. Its investments, regarding the amount of money and military expeditions and missions in these countries, have had a huge impact on their political, economic and social livelihoods. In Iraq only, it is estimated that the USA has spent more than $1 billion and more than 4,400 lives of American military personnel lost in the Iraq war (Heath, 2014).
In conclusion, besides many problems and conflicts facing Iraq and Afghanistan, it is evident that instability in the countries’ political administration and weak military organization and structure are the major causes of the current situation these two countries are in today. Unless these two Arabic nations adopt different approaches of administration and military organization, then the conflicts are not expected to end any soon. In the other case, the United States ought to withdraw its involvement in these countries to prevent any further conflicts arising from its activities in Iraq and Afghanistan.
