Airports are becoming popular with clients as people engaging in businesses and other activities. There is a need for airport authorities to adjust to the changing needs and demands of their customers to make the flying experience successful. Airports need to reduce congestions in passport verification lines, safety within and around the airport premises, parking areas, luggage area and social amenities among many needs. This study mainly focuses on LaGuardia airport and its ability to meet the demands of its clients.
LaGuardia Airport is stationed in New York City- East Elmhurst. The airport is one of the most crowded and busiest airfields. LaGuardia Airport facility and premises is about 280 hectares. LGA officials suggest that the area is not enough for constructing additional runways as the plans may dictate. Passenger traffic at the airport has been growing steadily since 2015.LGA has two functional runways (13/31 and 04/22). Accessing the airport is a struggle because of the access road to the airport interacts with the other main roads, which creates congestion (LaGuardia Media Center, 2016).
LGA airport has no luggage storage centers. Visitors are not allowed to store their luggage in the airport premises. Parking spaces are limited; the issues affect private transportation negatively (Airport & FBO, 2016). This criterion makes the airport limited to current demands expected from an airport. LGA airport experiences delays throughout the year.

As a result, the airport is currently subject to the FAA restrictions on operations.
Several adjustments are needed to prepare for the current requirement and projected future needs. LGA construction plans should consider building more parking lots and multi-story parking structure. These improvements would help increase the parking spaces and efficiency in the airport has ground systems. FAA requires that the airport LGA redesign the airport through NextGen adjustments to improve the effectiveness. For future demands, LaGuardia may need to introduce additional runways. Evidently, the terminal requires investing in space because the administration suggests space is not efficient for such an expansion. LaGuardia Airport is currently not sufficient to meet the customer’s needs. The study recommends improvements for current demands and future requirements.
