The issues involved are often very complex, more so, when it comes to life-threatening illness. For that reason, it is important for departments to come up with a clear general objective of planning and decision-making lesson chapters. In that case, the general objective is to instill a thorough understanding of planning and decision-making a concept.

To achieve the general objective of the lesson chapter, planning, and decision-making, there must be functional objectives that act as guidance to this mission. What follows are the functional objectives:

Gather the required information before carrying out any plans or making a decision. For example, healthcare sector may be having dozens of factors that contribute to its daily problems. Therefore, in the process of offering solutions to these problems it is imperative to have background information concerning these factors.

Before coming up with the best idea, it is essential to be well versant with the factors that lead to the problem. It is advisable to use models such as Cause-and-Effect diagrams and Pareto Chart. The Pareto chart will be helpful in prioritizing the causes and effects while Cause-and-Effect diagram will be helpful in identifying the possible factors that lead to the problem.
Carry out an evaluation of the available alternative options. In this step, it is very essential to use decision-making criteria and judgment principle in evaluating all of the available alternative options. Therefore, the effectiveness of the alternative option will come into play.
Select the best option. This comes after evaluating all of the available alternatives, and it is accompanied by personal experiences.
Carry out an execution of the decisions that led to the choosing of a given plan. The decisions are converted into viable plans.
Carry out an evaluation of the result. It is important to see whether you grasp the concept of study. This will give a room for future improvement.
