Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity
In the United States, a bill protecting the rights of LGBTQ individuals was passed into law by the congress thus creating a path away from their exploitations and discriminations. However, LGBTQ rights are shunned down as they are exposed to torture, arrest under unjust laws, medical abuses, discrimination and many more. According to Dwoskin, Squire, Patullo, and DiClemente (2017), LGBTQ individuals might be either discriminated against business opportunities or education. Majorly, in both institutions respectively, upon identification of one’s sexual orientation, an LGBTQ might face rejection of the opportunities such as loss of a business tender or a fail in the scholarship application.
In one’s own opinion, the word “inclusive” in reference to sexual orientation and gender identity should literary mean advocating extreme laws and policies that shield every individual’s dignity in the essence of enjoyment of their rights fully. Disclosure has been politicized to motivate the LGBTQ members to eliminate stigma and uplift their self-esteem (Budge, Orovecz, Owen, & Sherry, 2018). However, not only disclosure builds possibilities of discrimination, for example, poor support from employers and co-worker but also renders high unemployment rates to such members. This accrues from speeding up absenteeism, low shunned motivation and less business entrepreneur exhibited by those individuals.
