Native Americans
While the discovery and establishment of the United States give Americans great pride, the European’s colonization of early occupants from the late 15th century is a harsh reality. The new world presented these settlers with vast opportunities and attaining meant ousting indigenous tribal systems, practices, beliefs, ways of life, and institutions among other factors. as a result, indigenous Americans were forced to adopt American cultures, failure to which meant being perceived as savages.
In Mary Papenfuss’ article “College Apologizes to Native American Brothers Detained after Joining College Tour,” the issue of racial profiling against Native Americans is revealed. In particular, the article indicates an incident in which some two Native American youths encounter a discrimination ordeal in a college due to their appearance. The entire experience is linked to racial profiling in which only the two natives are subjected to interrogation despite being in the company of other races. This occurrence proves the persistence of prejudice against Native Americans more than five centuries after the initial occurrence of racial discrimination. One would believe that profiling on the basis of race is systematically embedded within America and despite assumptions refuting its existence, such instances as one presented in the article prove otherwise. While Native Americans have equal rights to enjoying liberties as provided in the Constitution as other Americans do, these rights remain strongly constricted due to centuries of continued systemic oppression.

Wait! Native Americans paper is just an example!

In conclusion, although Native Americans were the original owners and inhabitants of the United States of America, colonization by European settlers resulted in significant loss of aspects such as identity, culture, and ways of life among members of this group. This unfair treatment in the past has continued over centuries such that although the group coexists with the new owners of their land, they are still discriminated against.
