Nurses operating in all parts of the world have lately been equipped with the necessary skills to enable them to respond effectively in the event of a disaster of any kind. However in China, the training system for nurses doesn’t seem to be up to the task, the nurses in China don’t get enough training to prepare them for disaster relief. The disaster events experienced in China in the recent years gave the country’s nursing department a wakeup call which has seen the country embark on establishing nursing training and education programs (Yan et.al, 2015).
Primary prevention of nursing intervention involves the preparedness for emergency events. Nurses should always have all the required materials ready to respond to a disaster event that occurs anywhere may it be within their home country or another country. For example, the nurses in Haiti arrived at the scene but without the medication and other required treatment apparatus.
Secondly, there are secondary preventions nursing intervention in which the nurses and the organizations that have taken relief to the affected should engage the skilled nurses, be able to apply diverse recovery techniques depending with the situation of the disaster. This gives them the advantage to overcome challenges of any kind (Yan et.al, 2015).
The third is tertiary intervention nursing intervention; this takes place after the actual catastrophic event. Here the nurses plan how to do follow up with the peopled they treated when the disaster took place.

The follow up enables the nurses to observe the healing process, advising the victims on therapy procedures and how to take care of the existing wounds sustained during the disaster event.
Since am passionate about facilitating the implementation of the above nursing interventions, Working with an international humanitarian organization would give me that chance. Such organization like the Red Cross or United Nations would give the opportunity because they offer humanitarian aid across the borders in all nations that are hit by disaster events of this magnitude.
