Organizational behavior is the study of individual and group performances and behaviors in an organization. Organizational Behavior is basically an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary Body of Knowledge. It borrows knowledge and ideas from the behavioral sciences like economics, anthropology, psychology, political science, and sociology. Never the less the goal of organizational behavior is to utilize the diverse theories of these disciplines and use them in solving real-world problems.
Scientifically, psychology facilitates the study of the human behavior and mind. In doing this, psychology analyzes individual attitude and contributions to organizational behavior. Unlike psychology, sociology facilitates a systematic study of the interaction, structure, development and collective behavior of a group or an individual in the society. Organizational behavior borrows some of the sociological models to promote teamwork in organizations (Miner, 2015). Anthropology, on the other side, is the study of people and their ancestors through space and time by focusing on the physical characters, environmental and socio-cultural relations. Anthropology analyses organizational systems which help in understanding leadership styles and skills to influence organizational behavior in most companies. In organization behavior, political science helps to analyze the political and governmental processes and factors affecting the operation of an organization.

Organizational behavior also draws its knowledge from economics. Economics helps in analyzing the consumption, production, and distribution of goods and services in an organization. The central goal of organizational behavior is improved and maintain the performance of groups, people, and organizations. This in return helps to ensure smoothing running of the business.
