Introduction
We live in a society where racism and discrimination is a common occurrence. Moreover, people are seen to be different from others just because their skin color is different, mainly black men. Some white people view black men as dangerous and are usually scared of them.
Black men get associated with vices such as thugs, murderers, rapists, drug dealers and many more. The solution to racism requires the commitment and participation of all people regardless of their culture or skin color.
We can, therefore, address the issue of racism against black men in our society through standing against comments that reinforce stereotypes as well speaking against it, learning our rights and privileges and also staying safe.

Media can reinforce stereotypes in the minds of its users through types of news stories, commercials as well as movies portrayed. For example, movies portraying black people as thugs and drug dealers. Therefore, people should be conscious of what they listen to or watch.
Individuals can also use media to speak out against racism.
Likewise, they should not tolerate discriminating comments from people in their circles.
Black men should be aware of their rights and privileges as members of the society.
Black men should not let others make them feel like they are in the wrong place yet they have every right to be there.

Understanding their privileges and subsequently using them to dismantle systemic racism is a significant step towards addressing this issue.
For instance, a black man who knows that he can run for any political leadership position can use his knowledge to empower and encourage other black men to run for these positions.

Black people should avoid situations that can lead to bodily harm such as confronting police officers.
They should seek to create awareness among individuals. Let people know that racism is wrong. In situations where individuals are reacting aggressively to their ideas, they should attempt to remain calm and not let other people’s opinions get to their heads.
Conclusion
In most countries, black people face discrimination due to one reason or the other. Therefore, discrimination has become one of the real issues that require long-lasting solutions
To deal with racism, we should seek to stand against comments that bring about stereotypes, speak against racism, stay safe as well as understand other people’s rights and privileges.
