My Hidden Talent
I am your typical twelve-year-old kid, but I like viewing myself as strong, courageous and ambitious. I am not very social or popular but that doesn’t mean that am a loner, I have friends at school and in the neighborhood where we stay. I love reading books; I would rather spend my weekend cooped up in my bed with a book than go hang out with my friends, and they are always complaining about it. People know me in school because of my good grades; I am not useful in co-curricular activities. What everybody doesn’t know including my parents is that I have a hidden talent, am not just a bookworm.
Only my best friend knows that I can sing, she usually says that I have the sweetest voice she has ever heard and that one day I will make a big star. However, I don’t want to be a singer in the future, I want to be a teacher, and that’s why I don’t like anyone knowing that I can sing. I want to help others acquire knowledge and help them build themselves, and that’s why I always volunteer for tutoring. There are different careers one can pursue in music such as music directors, music teachers, voice-overs and one can also work in theme parks and cruise ships among others. Since singing for me is inevitable and I also have a passion for teaching, then one day I would like to be a music teacher. A music teacher can work in most institutions as a choral or a general music teacher and other programs. They can also offer private lessons to anyone interested (Suzy 1).

Although no one knows about my singing talent, for now, I know it will be realized with time. I also hope that my parents will support me in the decisions I make. Teaching is my passion even though I love singing. Therefore, I intend to help others by being a music teacher, and this will make me happy. I have dreams which I intend to accomplish in future.
