What it means to be a Friar and why Providence College is a right fit for me

To be a friar is a conscience decision one has to make. It is because a friar is a person who has dedicated his life to serving God and others. It is a lifestyle of giving oneself up and using that energy and time for others. It is an honor for one to be a friar since it is a call to serve others and no oneself. A friar is set apart from family and friend for the noble task to which he is called to. His family becomes other friars with whom he serves with.
Providence College is a right fit for me because of its approach to faith and reason. We live in a period where reason and faith are considered to be in contrast with each other. Providence College will, therefore, enable me to understand how faith and reason go hand in hand. As a result, I will spread this truth to my generation as I interact with people while in the market place
Another reason as to why Providence College is a right fit for me is that it integrates people of diverse religious backgrounds or lack together (Administrator, 2015). It will be a good experience for me to interact with such a diverse crowd so as to help me not to be prejudiced while in the marketplace. This is only possible in Providence College where the difficult issues concerning religion or lack thereof are tackled in great depth.
Finally, Providence College is dedicated to providing an education for the whole person regarding the body, mind and soul that is a unique factor and would, therefore, fit well with what I am interested in: to be a wholesome person.
