i. The topic of research is post-stroke recovery. A stroke is noted for being a leading cause of long-term disability in adults by affecting close to 800,000 people annually in the United States alone.
ii. Rehabilitation, which begins in the hospital, takes place as early as 48 hours after a stroke has occurred.
iii. Main idea: depending on the stroke’s severity, the typical options include inpatient therapy, sub-acute care, individualized therapy, home therapy, and long-term nursing at a local facility.
