Part 1

Complementary and alternative health care practices are the plans outside the primary field of medicine and that in most cases gets sourced from natural herbs. They are applied to treat sicknesses like insomnia and coughs and at times supplements the dietary requirements and loss of weight (Hughes, Gail, et al., N.pag). The need to integrate them is to help meet the population’s health requirements especially in remote places that have challenges in accessing primary health care. By including these programs in health care will boost safety, quality and studies regulation. That is critical given the potential risks in the present health care system that may be unable to manage (Hughes, Gail, et al., N.pag)

Part 2

As a nurse, to improve the implementation of complementary and alternative health care practices, needs to use models of the integrated care provision. That entails getting a particular skill or knowledge concerning the supplementary approaches in health care (Mann, Douglas, et al., .15) as an example is the informed clinician approach. That entails the nurse acquiring knowledge on the alternative care methods and advising the patients on their proper use. A family medicine physician as an example may gain insight on herbal supplements for some conditions seen in the hospitals. These could be nutritional, bodywork and others (Mann, Douglas, et al., 16)

a) Population based nursing
It pays attention to the whole community with the same health issues and characteristics.

It is based on the evaluation of society requirements and solves the wider health determinants focusing on primary prevention (Yurtoğlu & Nadir 241–264).

b) Insurance coverage of the practices
The nurse needs insurance coverage in this practice to get covered on some issues. The cover provides benefits not catered for by the employer guidelines such protection on assaults, expenses on first aid, going against the health cover acts, damage of assets and dispositions (American Public University N.pag)

c) Affordable Health Care Act
These are policies developed to establish a bill of rights for patients and promote the use of practices based on evidence while fostering access to affordable health services. It is the most critical reform on how patients pay for services and how they get delivered from the year 1965’s Medicare and Medicaid. Its goals are to broaden Medicaid, protect the employer and encourage the insurance industry by the government (Brenda & Hart 305–309)

d) Evidence-based practice.
It is a consent form of decision making that relies on current evidence when making decisions on patient care. It makes use of research on using evidence to respond to clinical issues, clinical experiences and the preferences of the patients. It gets often referred to as the best research (Jacksonville University N.pag).

e) Patient outcomes
Patient outcomes in nursing entail results for the patient under nursing intervention. They evaluate the efficiency of cost sensitive, and quality of health service. Sometimes they get used to measuring qualitative elements such as areas of care improvements (Liu, Ying, et al., 69-74).
